Since NAFTA began in the early 1990s, books publishedabout the global economy have proliferated. Most of the books have been writen to expose the issue. Understanding the Global Economy breaks from that trend by 1) identifying the root causes of globalization by explaining theories and 2) providing a solution based modle of practice. The first edition 1996—by Howard Richards, founder and Professor emeritus of the Peace and Global Studies at Earlham College was printed its second edition in July, 2004 by Peace Education Books. The 2nd edition began as a draft copy (more content added later) in January of 2004 in Rosario, Argentina at a regional meeting of NGOs and signatory nations that comprise the International Association of Educating Cities (IAEC). The author presented a teach-in—Another World is Possible—and gave draft copies of his book to UNESCO reps and IAEC presenters.
